I am trying to find a dwg file for an old enclosure. I would like to make a panel layout drawing for a 25+ year old panel we're upgrading. I am not familiar with that brand and their numbering scheme and a quick search of the info on the label didn't turn up much.

I may have not taken a pic of the correct label to find what I am looking for. This box is about 7 feet tall, probably 4 or 5 feet wide, about 24 inches deep. It is a double door panel like this one:

https://www.rittal.us/5844500-se-8-freestanding-enclosure-system.html

I just thought I would take a chance that someone here is intimate with Rittal and might be able to help.

If nothing turns up, I will use a tape measure and make an old school pencil sketch when back on site.

TIA
Paul

Does this help get you started?
George

Your attachment contained a brochure of the newer style panel in my link. That one is similar in height and width to the old panel I am trying to re-draw.

I have started from photos of the components which has helped me to guess the true dimensions of the box in which they're mounted. I will print it out and take it with me to the site and red-line it to make it more accurate.

It is not as if we will have to build a new panel so it doesn't have to be exact, but if I could just download a dwg or dxf file from info on that label in my 1st post, that would take much of the guesswork out of it.

I want to end up with a set of drawings in AutoCad format so we can record the multitude of changes that have been made over the past 30 years to this machinery. As it is now, we are halfway through an upgrade from PLC5 to Controllogix and relying on drawings that were incomplete 25 years ago, and pencil notes by maintenance techs.

This is slowing us down doing the I/O checkout. I am looking at a half commented PLC program for I/O devices that don't exist on paper in any form and filling in the new PLC comments to better align with reality.

I wanted to make these drawings as step one, but doing it at step 14 is better than not at all...

At the end of this job, I want to be able to provide the end users with high quality drawings that show all the devices in the control system with consistent naming, part numbers, and as much detail as I can get done in the allotted time.

Thanks for your help.

Select one and you should find Cad drawing

Nope, this panel is too old. None of the choices match up with it. Thanks though. I'm good with what I have. My drawing proportions closely match the photo I took and that is plenty good enough for a reader to locate components. I will just not include dimensions on the layout.

Okay, I see the part number in that catalog calls out the dimensions. If only it showed the backplate, I'd adjust my rectangle and move on with it.

So my full part number would be PS4806520 If I followed the guide right.

EDIT: BAM! Found it. It's obsolete so I can't download it, but I submitted a request for the CAD file.

Thanks!

I got the file (automated I suppose), and it was a 3-model which has what I believe is the back panel included. I cut that portion out and pasted it into my sketch. My guess work rectangle was about 1/2" too narrow and 6" too short, so I was close!

Thanks for the help, Lare.

their corporate office in the USA is 1-800-543-0350in Ohio.
I could not find the PS style enclosure in the 2012 catalogue.
I believe this type of enclosure was replaced with the TS series.

I hope this helps.
