Hello, I have a pair of redundant 1756-L71 controllers rev 24. These controllers currently have produced and consumed tag interfaces to 3 other compact logix PLCs and all of that works great. I am adding a 4th CompactLogix 1769-L30ER plc and need to utilize a few produced and consumed tags between it and the redundant pair previously mentioned. Is it possible to take one of the pair of L71 controllers offline and add the needed produced and consumed tags and have it sync the changes to the online controller? The whole point of redundancy was intended to limit any possible downtime, it seems there should be a way to keep running and add these tags but i've come up empty with the redundancy controllers manual and the produced and consumed tags manual.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
JP

I know of no way to add produced / consumed tags without a download, be it redundant or non-redundant.

Syncing a running controller program to incorporate changes in a offline program would be a heck of a trick, does any mfg-controller support that?
