I have begun to add a comment on the main ladder of each program, listing which adaptor I need, which baud rate, com port, device, ect. This helps me avoid confusion.
There are times that even when all settings are correct, connecting can still be a pain with USB adaptors. Often, even after connecting, the connection drops out, reconnects, drops out, ect.
I have on occasison had to resort to an old windows 98 computer with an actual RS-232 port to connect.
